Tile: Maintenance Tips

Your new tile is as easy to maintain and durable as it is beautiful! Here are some tips to keep it looking as great as it did the day we installed it.

  • For your floor tile, Sweep, vacuum, or dust mop regularly to remove all loose dirt
  • Use door mats at all outside entrances to contain the bulk of the dirt that may have otherwise make its way on your floor.
  • Place felt pads under the legs of all moving furniture, i.e. chairs, tables, etc.
  • Mop or clean your floor and wall tile regularly using appropriate tile cleaner.
  • Attend to spills quickly to avoid staining.
  • For stains, you can use a mixture of bleach and water. Scrub the stained area with a wash cloth or with an old tooth brush or soft bristle brush. Do not use steel wool or abrasive brushes.
  • Pay special attention to grout lines when cleaning. A solution of baking soda and water can help break down dirt and stains. Allow it to sit overnight, scrub it with an old toothbrush and finally rinse with warm water.
